FASTER, MORE FLEXIBLE ALTERNATIVE BUDGET

A faster, more flexible, alternative budget has been assembled.

BUDGET FOR FALL 2023

Through hard work and saving of our Director, Michael, we were able to build a $3,400 budget that was spent on paying for rehearsal space, actor rehearsals, crew wages and actor wages, for a total of 3 days shooting and 1 day rehearsal studio. So the Celtics tv series continues on through great perseverance and struggle!!! We were able to pay 4 actors and 2 crew over three shoot days!

BUDGET FOR SUMMER-FALL 2023

Help us raise $10 million for our first major season with extras, sets, locations. Spread the word both of this official site and all our Scene and Series videos from 2022! Thank You!!

BUDGET FOR WINTER-SPRING 2022

Working on a small budget of $2400 thus far, that our director has saved up the last year, we’ve been able to rehearse and shoot two scenes with four actors performing Aeronwen, Belenus, Danu and Lugh, thus far.

FILMING of Belenus and Aeronwen scene was completed March 2022.

FILMING of Danu and Lugh scene was completed April 2022.

There was no filming in May due to scheduling issues.

BUDGET FOR SUMMER 2022

We are working with another crowdfunding effort to raise a little more to shoot another scene, Scene 3 of Ep. 2, Maeve and Brigid if we can raise the $600. Once this is filmed, then we will fundraise again for Scene 4 of Ep.2, Macha and Fionn. Then after that another fundraiser to shoot Scene 1 of Ep. 3, Rhiannon and Pwyll. Rehearsals for Sc. 3, Maeve and Brigid are completed, so its ready to film. Rehearsals for Macha and Fionn are in progress and Rehearsals for Rhiannon and Pwyll will begin as soon as possible.

FILMING of Maeve and Brigid scene will begin in June 2022.

REHEARSAL and FILMING of Macha and Fionn scene will begin in July 2022.

REHEARSAL and  FILMING of Rhiannon and Pwyll scene will begin in July 2022.

OUR KICKSTARTER FUNDRAISER Raised $16,323 But Didn’t Meet Threshold

BELOW: This was the initial budget for crowdfunding:

While we didn’t get any of the money pledged, as Kickstarter rules are all-or-nothing, so all the pledges were automatically returned by Kickstarter. We were greatly impressed as I’m sure you all were that we raised $16,323 from 39 backers. It showed great interest in this Celtics tv series, 1st episode.

Kickstarter final fundraising amount

What was most impressive about the Kickstarter fundraising campaign is that $16,323 was pledged, which is a huge amount. So we are learning and scaling back the budget a bit, while still reaching out to big donors who can fully fund the first episode as originally planned.

BUDGET AND BACKER REWARDS

WHERE’S THE MONEY GOING?
Well, in a nutshell, production: the costs of physically shooting the movie:
  • Paying our Cast and Crew
  • Feeding them
  • Equipment Rental
  • Housing them on location
  • Set Construction
  • Transportation
  • Makeup and hair
  • Wardrobe and props
  •  And to do that, it’s going to cost us $100,000.
    STRETCH GOALS
If we make it to $120,000, we’ll be able to pay for the limited, but crucial VISUAL EFFECTS we’ll need to tell the Roman Empire part of story in the clearest most real way possible.
And $150,000 will unlock the all important POST-PRODUCTION achievement: editing, sound mixing, recording the score, color timing the picture…basically, the dotting of the ayes and crossing of the tees.

New reward tiers will unlock when we cross the threshold into each of those stretch goals.

Anything above that will go to increasing the compensation for our cast and crew, some of which will be volunteering their time and I’d love it if they didn’t have to, as well as covering the costs of getting Celtics series out into the world: still photography, publicity, festival entry fees, etc.

    Risks and challenges
We’re planning to shoot this towards the end of 2021, at which time we’ll be able to shoot Celtics relatively unencumbered—but if there’s rain all week, making our set water – safe will affect the budget. If we reach our production goal but not our stretch goals, delivery of a finished product might take longer than desired.

Every backer of Celtics: The Druids Premonition will receive exclusive access to season episodes materials throughout the series final development phase. Expect a Kickstarter and other crowdfunding launches.

REWARDS

I want to make participation accessible to everybody, no matter what financial level a person is. You want to see where your production money goes? You got it. We’re including location and set building photos, prop and wardrobe, and rehearsal photos, so you can see your money at work.

We really want to thank all that have, and will contribute, to this amazing film series project about the ancient Celtic Druids and their positive, creative, constructive, way they resisted the Roman Empire invading their lands. If you are looking for more involvement and push to help us build the sets and shoot the first few scenes of the first episode, you’re more than welcome to help us more!

FUNDRAISING PRODUCTION DETAILS

Detailed Line Itemized Budget Expense Breakdowns. Several budget levels are delineated. This is so the production is scalable and can both get the initial scenes shot on set location, as well as scaled up to a long running network series. Budget A, B, C, D, E, currently. With each increase in budget the actors are paid more, the crew paid more, the number of crew increases, and the size of extras in the background increases, as well as expansion of the set.  Ultimately I look towards making our own studio lot dedicated exclusively to the sets and support facilities of this series
